Breakfast (we didn't have other meals, but I would expect similar): 5

Maria and I first visited the Crocker House 33 years ago on our honeymoon. We have visited throughout the intervening years on our anniversary and the Inn is always so wonderfully quiet and peaceful. we always have a game of horse shoes and a walk around the point.

room. The spare quilt was nice, considering the lack of heat.

This is a hard review to write; really I would probably give it a 3.5, but we definitely did not feel like it lived up to the 4.8 star review it currently has, so I am rounding down.

The room we stayed in (queen room on the third floor) felt more like "out-dated" than quaint or rustic.

The building - outside of our room - was quaint and well-kept. Nice history.

Visited here for a wedding. As a wedding venue it was spectacular. The food was so good - shrimp scampi was a real highlight, and the bacon wrapped scallops were perfectly cooked and so fresh.

Breakfast was excellent and hearty! Everything was delicious and with their flexible menu (i.e., order whatever you do want) I found myself eating quite a bit and hardly finding myself hungry by noon despite having active days! The service was excellent and the kitchen was prompt!

.

The staff were so nice and helpful throughout the stay.

The location is good and bad... It's on a quiet point (a short walk to the water) in Frenchman Bay, so it had a nice, quiet area to walk, stroll, or run, but it was also a solid 45-60min drive to Acadia & Bar Harbor. We knew this when we booked, but there also isn't all that much to do in the direct vicinity besides the many activities based on MDI.

The service and staff for the "bed" side of things was quite good, but not extraordinary (no bad experiences either).

It is amazing that the Crocker House has been so consistently great for all these years. The food is delicious and creative and the Inn is always inviting. It is a place of special memories for us and I suspect for many others, as well.

Service: 4

All-in-all, we were frustrated by the room being more "out-dated" than quaint... Maybe other rooms are nicer. It wouldn't have been as big a problem if it weren't for the fact that we were paying what felt like prime prices for a remote B&B with a mediocre room for our after-Columbus Day visit. Next time we are likely to go with one of the similarly-priced options on MDI or rent an AirBNB where we have our own kitchen (i.e., can keep leftovers or snacks and drinks cold) and a nicer space or location. I did love the breakfast though!

The negatives? The only heat was a neat ceiling fan/heater in the bathroom, which was nice for heating the bathroom after a shower, but not good for regulating a comfortable temperature on chilly October nights. Some sort of bug (pumpkin bugs?) managed to find their way into our room every evening through the cracks and crevices facing the outdoor wall (I probably killed 10-15 during the 3 night stay). The cold water in the bathroom was very finicky; a tiny, frustrating trickle 95% of the time. There is no TV or minifridge in the room (not a huge deal, but good to know when you're comparing). A little added security would have been nice too... there was just a regular keyed lock with a latch that didn't feel like it would hold up to much.

Happy, enthusiastic and capable folks performing to provide a gracious, relaxed and memorable experience. They enjoy this place and so do we. Just booked ahead for a Thanksgiving day or two. Why not.? Awesome kitchen.!

Great B &B. Staff very helpful.

The Crocker House as a building: 4

The positives? A private space to call our own with a bed and bathroom, I guess. I don't know if the AC worked, but there was a unit in our

The rooms were beautiful and very quaint. Breakfast the next morning was also brilliant. Perfectly cooked easy over eggs and yummy blueberry pancakes.
